In this hilarious, hopeful and achingly human new play, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the document’s profound impact on women’s bodies—starting with her great-great-grandmother, a mail-order bride who died under mysterious circumstances. This witty and searingly personal exploration breathes new life into our founding document and imagines how it will shape the next generation of American women.

About: Ecstatic Visions spotlights members of the baroque music ensemble as well, in rapturous instrumental music by Johann Joseph Fux, Johann Schmeltzer, and Jean-Philippe Rameau. Handel’s Silete venti, the major work on this program, is a spectacular solo motet for soprano and Baroque orchestra, one that rivals his best operatic scenes.

What to expect: Energizing orchestral music in a casual and inviting environment, with unique surprises.
About: ROCO, a professional 40-piece chamber ensemble, is known for its adventurous programming and for taking audiences on a wild ride. Supersonic will feature the 2nd movement in Divine Comedy of Dante, a U.S premiere, but Richard Danielpour. Other highlights include a piece entitled “Go Big or Go Home” and musical exploration that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
